Following the official allocation of the Lifesaving World Championships (LWC)2020 from the ILS Board in September 2016 to Italy, the Italian Swimming Federation is glad to announce that the forthcoming edition of the LWC will take place in Riccione (ITA) between Mid-September and Mid-October, exact dates to be confirmed later.
Riccione, located on “Riviera Romagnola” on the Adriatic coast, is one of the best-known seaside destination for summer tourism.
Riccione and its people, hotels, restaurants and leisure facilities are perfectly capable to host the event, welcoming the huge number of lifesaving friends from all over the world.
Located inside the "Italo Nicoletti" Sports Centre, the "Swimming Stadium" of Riccione can be considered one of the finest and most functional swimming facilities in Italy.
Built to host national and international events it also offers quiet spots for relaxing.
Located at 1 km distance from the motorway, 3 km from Fellini Airport and 2 km from the railway station of Riccione, it is easily accessible.

The ocean events will be held in the Adriatic Sea, at 2 km from the swimming Stadium, along the coast nearby Misano Adriatico: 1 km of beach of the 100 km longest beach of Italy of fine clear sand will be reserved for the championships.
