How can you help further?

At your home

You became a part of ILS, what about your family members? Can you convince them to become a part of the largest Water Safety movement in the World?

In your neighbourhood and at your school

Fundraising for the ILS can be very rewarding – and great fun too. Supporters and volunteers have helped make the ILS what it is today. You can help too. Use the links below to find out more about the different ways of fundraising to support the work of the ILS.

At your work

Why not support ILS at your work? There are plenty of interesting ways in which you and your colleagues can get involved.

Gifts or services in kind

The work of ILS is wide and varied and, as such, gifts and services in kind can be very valuable. This may include raffle or auction prizes or donation of services or materials to be used by the ILS to develop lifesaving in the World.

Charity of the year

Why not choose ILS as your charity of the year?

Corporate support

A corporate partnership with the ILS can benefit your company in many ways – and helps to save lives from drowning.

Sponsorship

A company can support ILS or one of its events by becoming a sponsor. ILS events are an excellent way to associate your company’s name to a humanitarian organisation like ILS.

A wide range of ILS events take place throughout the year and all are organised professionally, safely and to the highest standards. An ILS event will provide your company the ideal look to be associated with an organisation that saves lives.

Cause related marketing or affinity marketing

Cause related marketing (CRM) and affinity marketing enables your company to build a partnership with ILS to market the image, product or service of your company to a group of individuals linked by a common interest. It uses the affinity they have to generate additional sales for the company. This is a strategic commercial activity with a measurable return on investment.

Employee fundraising

Employee fundraising is a great way to motivate your staff and team build by working towards a common goal outside of the core business. Fundraising activities might include dress down days, barbecues, raft races, coffee mornings, sponsored runs, tournaments or raffles. Fundraising is a vital element of the activities that support ILS.

By joining one of the lifesaving clubs in your country you will be able to meet like-minded people while having fun for a good cause. If you don’t fancy joining a club, why not organise your own activity or take part in an ILS event?

Matched giving

Matching funds raised by employees or through payroll giving is a great way to motivate employees as well as publicly demonstrating your commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Leaving a gift in your Will

The work of ILS relies entirely upon the generosity of kind supporters like you. Why should you not think about a legacy gift.

If you have already made a Will

If you have already made a Will, but would like to leave a gift to ILS, you can do so by making a simple addition to your existing Will. This is called a codicil.

If you have not already made a Will

If you do not have a Will at the moment, you may need to see a solicitor. Although you will have to pay a fee, you will receive sound professional advice and can be sure that your wishes are achieved.

Two ways to give to ILS in your Will:

  • Pecuniary gift – you can choose to give a gift of a fixed amount of money.
  • Residuary gift – you can choose to leave a share, or the whole, of what is left in your estate once you have provided for your loved ones.

Where can I find out more?
