ILS Board Meeting 2003 in St-Lucia

The Saint Lucia Lifesaving Association organised from 25 April till 2 May the Caribbean Lifesaving Conference and Championships as well as the ILS Strategic Planning Meeting and the ILS Commissions and Board of Directors Meetings.

Over 140 people representing 22 ILS member organisations were present at the event.

The Board decided on over 150 recommendations coming from its four standing commissions and 12 Working Groups.

New joiners
We welcome the following organisations that joined ILS at the 2003 Board Meeting:

  • St. Lucia: became full member of ILS.
  • Jamaica: became full member of ILS.
  • Trinidad and Tobago: became full member of ILS.
  • Romania: became full member of ILS.
  • Costa Rica: became corresponding member of ILS.
  • Qatar: became corresponding member of ILS.

The ILS President was happy with the result of the meetings:

“ILS is on the right track and I am very happy that we have now together settled the pathway for the future five years. The St. Lucia Lifesaving Association did a marvellous job and ILS was right to hold the meeting in this part of the World. By being here, we moved lifesaving forward in the Region and you can see that four new countries from the Caribbean region joined our world wide movement”.
