An ILS delegation headed by the ILS Secretary General, comprising the Sports Commission Chair and Secretary had fruitful meetings with the representatives from the French Lifesaving Federation and the Organising Committee of Rescue 2014.
The progress presented is very promising and the project plan is well ahead of schedule. France is doing all what is possible to provide all competitors and participants a memorable World Championship in the South of France. The cities of Montpellier and La Grande Motte are fully behind the event and guaranteed that the event will have their first priority.
At Rescue 2014, the following World Championships will take place:
- National Teams World Championships.
- National Youth Teams (under 18) World Championships.
- Masters World Championships.
- Interclub World Championships.
- Interclub Youth Teams (under 18) World Championships.
- Surfboat World Championships.
- Surfboat Masters Championships.
- IRB World Championships.
The state-of-the-art Antigone Swimming complex will be the venue for the pool events and the SERC, while the Meetings, Beach and Ocean events will take place in La Grande Motte, a unique holiday resort.
The Organising Committee contracted VTR voyages as the ground handler for accommodation and transport issues.
