A message from the Japan Lifesaving Association

To all my dear ILS friends,

We have been receiving heartwarming messages and sympathy from ILS members around the world, regarding the massive Tohoku Earthquake off the Pacific coast that hit 11th March in Japan. I hereby extend our gratitude for all of your warm regards.

Our JLA office in Tokyo, staffs and directors were all fortunately safe. However, it is also true there are members in the devastated areas that we still cannot contact.

JLA will continue to gather correct information of this disaster, work with local authorities, and cooperate to support the victims.

As the devastating damage reveals each and every moment, we assume we will face difficulties beyond our imagination. Japan will now have to stand up against this extensive inconceivable disaster as a whole country and with support of all the people throughout the nation.

As for our JLA members nationwide, we are sure they are to work with leadership in this difficult moment with lifesaving spirit in their hearts.

At that moment, we believe all your thoughts and messages from ILS members around the world will definitely encourage us.

Authorized organizations regardless of their nationality have arrived to Japan for relief and rescue operations. We would like to take this opportunity to thank every support and sympathy from these countries.

Yours faithfully,

Tsutomu Komine
President
