The International Lifesaving Federation complies with the anti-doping code issued by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA).
On 17 April 2006, ILS received the following letter from the Manager of Legal affairs of WADA:
“Dear Mr. Whelpton:
Please receive our congratulations on your anti-doping rules.
We have reviewed the Rules and Guidelines of the International Life Saving Federation and these seem to cover and be in compliance with all aspects included in the World Anti-Doping Code.
We thank you for your cooperation in this legislative exercise and for your continued commitment to drug-free sport “.
We wish to congratulate the ILS Sports Commission and Anti-Doping Committee for their outstanding work and for keeping our sport clean. We were also happy to read that all test done at the 2006 Lifesaving World Championships were negative.
