It is with a great deal of sadness that we announce that Dr. Heather MacGowan PhD passed away last Friday 7 November 2003.

Heather made a wonderful contribution to lifesaving in Australia over many years and was very active as Chair of the ILS Development Aid Commission and in assisting the development of Lifesaving in the Asia Pacific Region. She has many friends throughout the Lifesaving world.

Heather will be greatly missed.
