Lifesaving 2016 great success

The last few weeks Eindhoven and Noordwijk were the place to be, during the World Championships Lifesaving 2016. Around 3700 Lifeguards competed in several categories for the medals. The organisation looks back on a great event!

Jolanda van Dalen, Chair of the 2016 Lifesaving World Championships is very satisfied about the championships. ‘We have succeeded to organise World Championships which were well appreciated by the participants and by the team and technical officials. I am so proud at all volunteers. They have done an outstanding job.’

The International Life Saving Federation (ILS) was very also pleased with the organisation. Graham Ford AM, President of ILS, was particularly impressed by the hospitality he experienced at both locations. ’It was amazing how friendly we were received.’ With the closing of the 2016 Lifesaving World Championships the organisation is officially handed over to Australia, where the 2018 Lifesaving World Championships will be organised.
